WooHoo-Whew

On our dock right beside our boat sits a brand new Beta 30 motor imported into Mexico from Beta Marine LTD UK direct total cost:

$8450 USD. This total includes the Beta 30 diesel engine with 120 Amp alternator, high rise exhaust, special feet for our Tartan 37, 1″ shaft coupling, Type “C” control panel with all the gauges and air freight cost from Gloucester England, UK to Vanvouver BC CA to Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, MX.

Add $615 for clearing customs paperwork and transportation 25 Km from Puerto Vallarta to La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and delivery to our dock.

Grand total: $9065 USD plus we added some spare parts in the crate from Beta add’l $750 USD.

Preparation, delivery, motor (BOX) photos, we will start unpacking and installation tomorrow, we may even beat our first MOTO-NO-VERSARY of April 01, 2013 at 3:00AM when we first blew up the poor old Westerbeke 40…

Spent last couple days getting all the electrical wires out of the engine compartment and installing sound insulation…  Before:

The motor arrives and they clear customs same day, impossible they all say:

FIN for now, install motor over the next few days!

    Woo-Hoo is right. Congratulations! Hope all goes smoothly with the installation of your new engine (even though I know it’s a boat and nothing ever goes all that smoothly). The insulated engine compartment lucks SWEET!

    Life on a sailboat is never boring!!! You are going from one adventure to another one. This one is costly but will give you many more years of pleasurable and unforgettable adventures.
